Location: KetchikanType: Fugitive From Justice Warrant Arrest

On 02/19/2022 at about 2046 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a male yelling in the area of Clover View Court.  AST responded to the area and located Christopher Rhodes, age 51 of Ketchikan.  Investigation revealed that Rhodes had an Extraditable Warrant out of Arizona reference Felony DUI.  Rhodes was arrested on his warrant and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $15,000.

On 02/19/2022 at about 1802 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a white Jeep for an equipment violation near the 2400 block of Tongass Avenue.  Investigation revealed that the driver, Donna Peterson, age 42 of Ketchikan was operating a motor vehicle with a Revoked drivers license.  Further investigation revealed that Peterson had one prior conviction for DWLR.  Peterson was issued a Summons for DWLR and a traffic citation for Fail to Show Proof of Insurance.  The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

On 02/16/2022 at about 2035 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a red Honda for a moving/ equipment violation near the intersection of Deermount and Stedman Street.  The driver was identified as Tara Young, age 28 of Ketchikan.  Young had no valid operators license.  AST observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.  K-9 Misty was also deployed to the scene.  With the assistance from K-9 Misty the vehicle was seized.  On 02/17/2022 AST executed a search warrant on the vehicle.  Investigation revealed that Tara Young was in possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  Further investigation revealed that the passenger Jason Valley, age 40 of Ketchikan was also found to be in possession of Methamphetamine and a non-prescribed controlled substance in a pill form.  Young was issued a Summons for MICS 5th Degree and traffic citations for NVOL, and Failure to Show Proof of Insurance.  Valley was issued two Summons for MICS 5th Degree.

On 02/22/2022 at about 1405 hours, the Alaska State Troopers remanded Tony Teal, age 38 of Ketchikan on two arrests warrants issued on 02/22/2022 by the Ketchikan Courthouse.  Teal was already incarcerated at Ketchikan Correctional Center.  The new warrants stem from the original charges of MICS 2nd Degree, MICS 3rd Degree, MIW 3rd Degree, and Terroristic Threatening in the 2nd Degree.  Bail was set at $30,000.

Type: Sexual Assault in the First Degree

On 02/08/2022, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a sexual assault of a female on Prince of Wales Island. The victim was treated for injuries and the Prince of Wales SART team was activated to include Troopers, medical staff, and victim advocates. Investigation revealed Gideon Duncan, age 68 of Hydaburg, had physically and sexually assaulted a female. Duncan was arrested on 02/24/2022 for a $200,000 warrant for the crimes of Sex Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Assault in the Second Degree. Duncan was remanded to Craig Jail where he is held on $200,000 bail.
