Location: Klawock

Type: DUI/Resisting Arrest

On 12/18/2021 at 1543 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Subaru Legacy for a moving violation near Klawock. Investigation resulted in the arrest of 46-year old Amberlee Orr of Klawock for DUI. Subsequently, Orr was also charged with resisting arrest when she resisted arrest by force. Orr was transported to the Craig Jail where she provided a sample of her breath which measured the alcohol content to be .276 which is over 3x the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle.

On 12/11/2021 at approximately 0243 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the area of Big Lake Rd for a report of domestic disturbance occurring between two vehicles traveling towards the Parks Highway. As Troopers responded to the area, the vehicles separated. MATCOM advised the potential victim of the disturbance to continue driving to Mat-Su West to meet with Troopers, while other responding units continued to the originating address near Kenaka Bena in Big Lake. Investigation revealed that Gregg Palmer, age 45, of Big Lake, had placed a family member in fear with a handgun before chasing that family member down Big Lake Road. While the family member was trying to get away, Palmer used his vehicle to impact the other multiple times before turning around and leaving prior to AST arrival. Palmer was located at approximately 1012 hours after committing further crimes of assault against the family member. Palmer was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was remanded on the following charges without bail: Assault 2 DV, Assault 3 DV x3, Criminal Mischief 3 DV, Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer, Misconduct Involving Weapons 4, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Reckless Driving.

Type: Take Game with Artificial Light--Conviction

On 12-14-21, Dannielle Connolly, age 32 of Kake, and Matthew Ashenfelter age 34 of Kake appeared in Petersburg court and were convicted  to multiple wildlife offenses.  Charges included Take Game with Artificial Light, Take Big Game in a Closed  Area, Shoot Game From the Roadway, and Hunting Without a Valid License.  Ashenfelter was sentenced to fines of $2800 with $1750 suspended, loss of hunting license for one year, loss of hunting rifle and placed on probation for one year.  Connolly was sentenced to fines of $3050 with $1750 suspended, loss of hunting license for one year, loss of hunting rifle, and placed on probation for one year.  The conviction is the result of an Alaska Wildlife Trooper investigation that occurred on Lindenberg Peninsula, in Game Management Unit 3 after the closure of that areas deer season.

Type: Warrant Arrest, Assault 2nd x2, and Assault 4th

On 12/18/2021 at 1143 hours the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report of a disturbance in Circle and the suspect was identified as Jack Boyle, age 44 from Circle.  Alaska State Troopers from the Fairbanks Rural Unit and Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to investigate.  While passing through Central, Troopers were notified by a concerned citizen that Boyle had recently driven by.  Boyle was located hiding in a parked car and was arrested for an outstanding $5000 felony arrest warrant for Theft 2nd and Vehicle Theft 1st x2.  Investigation determined Boyle assaulted a family member multiple time.  Boyle was remanded to FCC where he was held on his warrant and the new charges of Assault 2nd (DV) x2 and Assault 4th (DV).  The investigation continues and additional charges may be filed.  AST would like to thank the concerned citizens of Central who assisted in locating Boyle.
