On 12/20/2020, at approximately 1919 hours, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near mile 6 of the North Tongass Highway. The driver of the vehicle, Christopher Mowers (age 49 of Ketchikan), was arrested for driving with a suspended license, driving without a required ignition interlock device, and driving without motor vehicle insurance. Mowers was remanded at the Ketchikan Correctional Center.

On 12/22/2020 at about 2100 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Elizabeth Jackson, age 20 of Ketchikan at a residence at mile 11 of the North Tongass Highway. Jackson had two outstanding warrants issued by the Ketchikan Courthouse for Violating Conditions of Release from the original charges of Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Office, DUI, and Reckless Driving. Jackson was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $1500.00.

Troopers contacted Jesse Grant(31Y/O) in regards to ongoing drug investigations in Southeast Alaska. During the investigation a Trooper K9 indicated to the presence of the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. A search warrant was obtained and served on the vehicle. During the service of the Search Warrant, Troopers located approximately 22 grams of a brown crystal and sticky substance. The substance was field tested and tested positive for Heroin. Jesse was placed under arrest and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center. The Alaska State Troopers were assisted by the Alaska Wildlife Trooper, Probations, and Ketchikan Police Department during the contact.

On 12/23/2020 at about 1931 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a red Ford pick-up for an equipment violation near the intersection of Carlanna Lake Road and Baranof Avenue. Investigation revealed that the driver Bryan Thompson, age 35 of Ketchikan had four outstanding warrants for his arrest reference the original charges of VCOR and Theft. Further Investigation revealed that Thompson was required to have an Ignition Interlock Device (IID) on the vehicle which he did not and was also found to be violating current conditions of release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse by being in possession of drug paraphernalia. Thompson was arrested and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $1600.00. AST would like to thank Ketchikan Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.
