From the City of Craig
The City of Craig supports efforts to organize some traditional Fourth of July activities. Keeping in mind the need to lessen the likelihood of transmission of the coronavirus, Fourth of July activities will include the following precautions against the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
• Reducing the number of game booths, and increasing spacing between booths. • Elimination of high contact surface contact games, including the bouncy house. • Disinfecting booth game pieces between users.
• Eliminating prize tokens in favor of direct distribution of game prizes.
• Placement of hand washing stations.
• Hand sanitizer bottles at booths.
• Door prize registration of participants to assist with any subsequent contact
tracing efforts.
• Modified games/races to encourage distancing between participants. • Placement of posters reminding participants of safe practices.
• Hourly disinfection of common surfaces.
• Availability of face coverings for use during the event.
• Virtual kids’ fishing derby.
The Alaska Public Health Nurse office was consulted in observance of State of Alaska COVID-19 guidance on community events. Public Health provided helpful input--please note that the agency does not formally approve or disapprove community gatherings.
The City of Craig wishes everyone a fun and safe Fourth of July holiday.
