On 08/12/2019 Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan received a report of a vehicle in the ditch near 2.8 mile South Tongass Highway. Alaska State Troopers and US Forest Service Officers responded to the area and located a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder partially in the roadway, the driver had departed the area on foot prior to police arrival. Troopers located the driver nearby and identified him as 55 year old Jeffery Clark of Ketchikan. Clark was taken into custody and remanded to the Ketchikan jail under charges of DUI and Driving While License Revoked. There were no injuries and no damage to the vehicle which was later released to the registered owner.

Edgar was cited after he was contacted while providing a guided sport fish charter on the marine waters near Ketchikan. Bail is set at $220.00 in the Ketchikan District Court.

On 08/11/2019, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Ketchikan Post cited Larry H Richards (76 YOA) of Ketchikan for sport fishing without a license in possession. Richards was cited after he was contacted while fishing in Tongass Narrows without a 2019 sport-fishing license in possession. Bail is set at $220 in the Ketchikan Court.

On 08/13/2019 at about 2313 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 2300 Block of Killer Whale Avenue. AST, and the Saxman VPSO responded to the residence. Investigation revealed that Thomas Mann, age 25 of Ketchikan physically assaulted another family member at the residence and knocked the cell phone out of the family members hand when they attempted to call the Troopers. Further investigation revealed that Mann became physically aggressive towards the VPSO and physically attacked the VPSO prior to being restrained and placed into handcuffs. Mann was arrested for Assault 4 DV, Interfering with a Report of DV, and Assault 4 against a Police Officer and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.

On 08/13/2019 at about 1838 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a white Astro van in the 600 Block of Park Avenue. Investigation revealed that a passenger Kaylynn Tinney age 19 of Ketchikan had an outstanding warrant for her arrest reference Failure to Appear from the original charge of Theft in the 4th Degree. Tinney was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

On 08/13/2019 at about 1939 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Cody Mathwig, age 31 of Ketchikan in the 600 Block of Park Avenue. Mathwig was found to have an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for Status Hearing from the original charge of Theft in the 4th Degree. Mathwig was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

On 08/14/2019 at about 1809 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Rachel Coblentz, age 31 of Ketchikan at her residence located at mile 8 of the North Tongass Highway. Coblentz had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Ketchikan Courthouse reference VCOR which stem from the original charges of Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, and four counts of MICS 4th Degree. Coblentz was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $1,000.

On 8/10/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Prince of Wales conducted commercial caught salmon offloads of seine vessels. The FV Reality offloaded commercially caught fish that had been retained for personal use but had not been recorded the fish on an ADF&G fish ticket. The captain, Charles McCullough, 36 of Petersburg, was issued a summons to appear in the Prince of Wales District Court.

Update: On 08/13/19, the Alaska State Troopers’ Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit in Ketchikan with the assistance of the Ketchikan Police Department and Alaska State Troopers Patrol in Ketchikan arrested Freddie Seludo (age 25 of Ketchikan) for Conspiracy to Commit Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree. Seludo’s arrest came as a result of an ongoing investigation into the seizure of an United States Postal Service parcel containing 31.9 gross grams of heroin, which had resulted in the arrest of Christian Mathers (age 21 of Ketchikan) on 08/03/19 for Attempted Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree and for Violation of Conditions of Release for a pending felony charge. Seludo was remanded at the Ketchikan Correctional Center without bail pending arraignment on 08/14/19.
On 08/03/19, the Alaska State Troopers’ Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit in Ketchikan with the assistance of K-9 Misty, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Ketchikan Police Department arrested Christian Mathers (age 21 of Ketchikan) for Attempted Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree and for Violation of Conditions of Release for a pending felony charge. Mathers was arrested without incident after he attempted to take possession of a parcel that contained 31.9 gross grams of heroin. Mathers was remanded at the Ketchikan Correctional Center without bail pending arraignment on 08/04/19.

On 8/15/2019, Prince of Wales State Troopers contacted 34 year old Hydaburg resident Tony Stevens in Hydaburg. Stevens had an outstanding probation warrant stemming from a forgery in the first degree case. Stevens was arrested on the warrant and remanded at the Craig Jail.

On 08/15/2019 at about 1258 hours, the Alaska State Troopers observed a suspicious male discarding items in a dumpster in the 400 Block of Main Street near the Ketchikan Courthouse. Investigation revealed that Shaquille Mills, age 26 of Ketchikan had discarded reported stolen access devices which were reported stolen on July 20, 2019 from a residence on Oyster Avenue. Mills was also found to be on three sets of current conditions of release from the original charges of Theft in the 4th Degree. Mills was arrested for Theft in the 2nd Degree and VCOR and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.

On 8/14/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Ketchikan Post conducted commercial caught salmon offloads of seine fleet tenders. The F/V Harmony offloaded prohibited species of fish which had been purchased from commercial seine vessels. The captain, John Gannon, 66 of Washington, was issued a citation for unlawful possession of fish. Gannon is required to appear in the Ketchikan District Court.

On 08/16/2019, at approximately 0030 hours, the Saxman VPSO contacted 53-year-old Floyd Jackson of Saxman in regards to a report that he had violated his court ordered conditions of release by consuming alcohol. Subsequent investigation revealed Jackson had consumed alcoholic beverages. He was taken into custody and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center, where he was held without bail pending his arraignment. Jackson was charged with the misdemeanor offense of violating conditions of release.

On 08/11/2019 Jacob D Young, 22 of Orem Utah, was cited by Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, for sport fishing with more than one line. Young was cited after he was contacted while fishing near Naha Bay for Halibut with more than one line. Bail is set at $120.00.
