On February 25, 2019, the United States Forest Service Law Enforcement Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a person known to have a revoked drivers license operating the vehicle. The driver was 35 year old Thorne Bay resident Tucker Thompson. Thompson was arrested and transported to the Craig Jail where he was remanded for Driving While License Revoked.

The warrant was for fail to serve jail time with the original charges of Criminal Trespass II and Petition to Revoke Probation.

On 2/23/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Prince of Wales Post was contacted by Glenn A Wilber (72 y/o) of Craig reporting he had commercially harvested Geoduck clams in an area which was not open for commercial harvest on 2/20/19. Wilber was issued a citation for commercial harvest of geoduck clams during a closed period. He has a mandatory appearance in the Prince of Wales District Court.

On 02/26/2019 at about 1652 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Michael Baham, age 33 of Ketchikan outside a residence in the 800 Block of Buren Street. Baham had an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from a PTRP Technical Violation from the original charges of MICS 2 and MICS 3. Baham was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $500.00.

On 02/26/2019 at about 2008 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a white Infiniti on Hopkins Alley. The vehicle was pulled over for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed that the driver Johnathan Jackson, age 36 of Ketchikan was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a narcotic. A crystal substance identified as Methamphetamine and drug related paraphernalia were also located inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Jackson had two prior DUI related convictions out of Alaska. Jackson was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail. Jackson was also issued traffic citations for Driving While License Suspended and Fail to Show Proof of Insurance at the time of Stop.

On 2-26-19 at approximately 2313 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance at a residence near mile 11 of the North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that Ian Johnson-Beitman, age 28 of Ketchikan placed another person in fear of immanent physical injury. Johnson-Beitman was arrested and remanded to the Ketchikan Correctional Center on the charge of Assault IV Domestic Violence.

Whitney had an outstanding arrest warrant reference PTRP PACE Program. Whitney was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $20,000.

On 2/26/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Prince of Wales Post contacted by Tremaine T Lawrence (32 y/o) of Bellingham, WA. The contact led to Lawrence being issued a citation for failing to submit his ADF&G geoduck dive log as required. Lawrence participated in a commercial geoduck fishery on 10/11/18 and did not submit it to ADF&G with-in the 7 days as required. He has a mandatory appearance in the Prince of Wales District Court.

On 2/24/19, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales located a personal use dungy pot that was not equipped with a biodegradable escape mechanism as required by 5AAC77.010m. Investigation revealed that the pot was being fished by James Cook, age 53 of Hydaburg. Cook was issued an Alaska Uniform Citation for fishing personal use pots with no biodegradable escape mechanism.
