On February 3, 2019, at about 11:00AM, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales island responded to Hydaburg after receiving a report of a deceased person. The investigation revealed 65 year old Daniel Natkong had been found deceased by a family member at about 11:00AM. There was no signs of foul play and cold weather played a role in the death. Next of Kin notifications were made in Hydaburg and the body was released to the family.

On 02-04-2019, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a break-in at the Green Bean Coffee shop in Ketchikan. Investigation revealed forced entry was made and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the establishment. Evidence at the scene was collected, the investigation will continue. Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to contact Alaska State Troopers at 225-5118.

On 2/6/2019 at 0901 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers were notified of a disturbance in Hydaburg. Investigation revealed that 41 year old Hydaburg resident Mitchell Carle unlawfully entered the residence of a family member and damaged the family member's property. Carle was located in Hydaburg and arrested on the abovementioned charges. Additionally, Carle was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for violating a domestic violence protection order. Carle was remanded at the Craig Jail pending arraignment.

On 2/8/2019, Prince of Wales State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 1994 Ford pickup for equipment violations. Investigation revealed the driver, 22 year old Kelsie Young of Craig to be operating the vehicle without liability insurance. Additionally the investigation revealed Young to be on conditions of release in three criminal cases, two of which are operating a vehicle without insurance. Young was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without liability insurance and VCOR x 3.

On 01/31/19, Brandon E Morrison, 24 YOA of Ketchikan, was cited by Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, for operating a shrimp pot and Dungeness crab pot without his name on the buoys. Morrison was also cited for operating a shrimp pot and Dungeness crab pot without a biodegradable escape panel on the pots. Morrison was cited after Alaska Wildlife Troopers located his pots in the waters near Polk Inlet, without any markings on the buoys. Bail is set at $240 in the Ketchikan district court.
