As hospice volunteers, we have the privilege of helping people when they need it most. Hospice serves people in the community who are at end of life. While we can rarely change the outcome, we can change the journey.
We offer a free training yearly. At this training we teach you how to be truly present with another to provide meaningful, real, and comforting support to our patients and their families. You’ll learn the unique ways that each person grieves as well as how to comfort someone when they are navigating the muddy waters of intense grief. You will learn the details of the healthcare options available in our small, remote community, including the ways our hospice volunteers help out.
Ketchikan Hospice volunteers are an incredible group of thoughtful, interesting, and caring people who support one another as we all learn how to confront the biggest elephant in the room: death. If you have an area of expertise that you believe could benefit Hospice, please call 821-4732 to learn more about how you can volunteer. Follow the TICKETS link above to the application if you are interested in applying.
DEADLINE for applications is JANUARY 7 so don’t delay. Complete and return application form to tpitts@peacehealth.org
