Trooper Report Week of April 17, 2022

On 04/20/2022 at approximately 0720 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a call for a medical assist where a logger had been reportedly crushed by falling rock in the area of Duke Creek and The One Duke Trail. Troopers responded to the area with the use of an AWT four-wheeler. Klawock EMS also responded via four-wheeler to the area. The patient was cared for at the site of the accident until USCG responded via helicopter for a medivac. The patient was airlifted to Ketchikan where he is in stable condition.

At approximately 0130 hours Ketchikan AST was advised of an assault in progress in the Vallenar View Trailer Park area. AST responded and contacted the complainant. Investigation revealed Kenneth Sifferman had assaulted and strangled his girlfriend. Kenneth was arrested for one count of Assault 3 and one count of Assault 4. He was transported to Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was held without bail.

On 4/21/2022, Prince of Wales State Troopers received a report of an assault which occurred in Hydaburg. Investigation revealed 34-year-old Gwendolyn Peratrovich had assaulted an elderly family member. Troopers were unsuccessful locating Peratrovich in the community. Based upon her prior convictions of assault, some of which perpetrated on the same family member, an arrest warrant for Assault 3 (Felony) was obtained. On 4/22/2022 at 1156 hours, Peratrovich was located in Hydaburg and arrested on the warrant by the VPSO’s. She was remanded to the Craig Jail pending arraignment.

On 4/23/2022 at 1500 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers observed 56-year old Hydaburg resident, Marvin Charles operating a motor vehicle near Main Street in Hydaburg. Troopers were well award that Charles's drivers license was revoked. Investigation further revealed his license is revoked until the year 2085. Charles was issued a misdemeanor citation for DWLR and released.
