Location: Ketchikan

Type: Retain Quillback rockfish closed season

Dispatch Text:

On 5-16-2021 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Theron Borch (24) of Ketchikan for retaining a Quillback rockfish during the closed season.  This violation carries a set bail/fine of $140 and does not require a mandatory court appearance in the First Judicial District Court in Ketchikan.

Type: Assault in the 2nd Degree DV

On 05/21/2021 at about 1823 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of an Assault at a residence on Stay Court.  Investigation revealed that Stephen Murphy, age 29 of Ketchikan had seriously physically injured another family member.  Murphy was arrested and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center for Assault in the 2nd Degree with No Bail.  AST would like to thank North Tongass Volunteer Fire Department for their fast response and assistance.

On 05/25/2021 at about 1800 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Jamie Cox, age 26 of Ketchikan at a residence in the 3900 Block of Hillside Road.  Cox had an outstanding warrant for VCOR reference the original charge of MICS 2nd Degree.  Cox was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $500.00.  AST would like to thank Ketchikan Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.

On 5-19-21 at approximately 2050 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision near mile 2 of the South Tongass Highway.  Investigation revealed that Zachary Turner-Miller, age 18 of Ketchikan, was the sole occupant and driver of a 2005 Mazda RX8 operating at a high rate of speed.  Miller-Turner lost control and struck a guardrail and a state-owned metal fence.  The vehicle came to rest over an embankment adjacent to a residence.  Miller-Turner was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and not injured in the collision.  He was charged with Negligent Driving and cited for Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.  The vehicle was removed by Purdy's Towing.  Alcohol was not a factor.
