On 10/12/2020, Alaska State Troopers from the Ketchikan Post responded to a residence off the North Tongass Highway to investigate the report of domestic violence. David Vest was arrested for Assault 4 (DV) and for Violation of Conditions of Release. Vest was out on bail on five pending criminal cases. Vest was remanded at the Ketchikan Correctional Center without bail pending arraignment on 10/13/2020

On 10/04/2020, at approximately 1725 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Ketchikan received a report of a stolen boat. The boat is a green, fifteen foot, Lowe flat bottom boat with a twenty-five horsepower Yamaha outboard, and is marked with Alaska registration stickers AK4480P. The boat was taken from a parking lot in Ward Cove. Anyone with information about the stolen boat is encouraged to call the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 225-5518.

On 10/13/20, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island contacted James Alexander, age 61 of Craig, during the commercial cucumber dive fishery where he was working as the captain of the FV Bar-B-Q. Investigation revealed that Alexander had a deckhand working on the vessel that did not have a valid crew-members license. Alexander was issued a minor offense citation for the violation.

On 10/13/20, Alaska Wildlife Troopers on Prince of Wales Island contacted Zachary Giron, age 19 of Craig, during the commercial cucumber dive fishery where he was working as a deckhand on the FV Bar-B-Q. Investigation revealed that Giron did not have a valid crew-members license. Giron was issued a minor offense citation for the violation.

On 10/14/2020 at about 1859 hours, the Alaska State Troopers were contacted by a Ketchikan Public Transportation driver who reported that a passenger was causing a disturbance on the City Bus and refused to get off the bus when asked numerous times. AST responded to the area for Forest Park Drive and the South Tongass Highway. AST contacted and arrested Curen Hummel- Clabby, age 34 of Ketchikan for Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree. Hummel- Clabby was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

On 10/15/2020 at about 1635 hours, the Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision with injuries at mile 6 of the North Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that Morgan Ming, age 25 of Ketchikan was traveling southbound on the North Tongass Highway in a 2003 Subaru when she came around a corner and lost control of her vehicle, crossing the centerline, and colliding with a 2009 Chevrolet pick-up truck traveling in the opposite direction of travel which was operated by a 47- year old male. Both drivers sustained moderate injuries and were transported to the hospital and later released. Both lanes on the North Tongass Highway were shut down for approximately 20 minutes. Case is under investigation. AST would like to thank North Tongasss Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance and fast response and Purdys towing for making the scene safe and removing the vehicles from the roadway. Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts.
