On 04/21/2020 at about 1722 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of occupants in a black Chevrolet Blazer parked in the Forest Park neighborhood who appeared to be using narcotics. AST responded to the scene and located the vehicle parked in the 300 Block of Forest Park Drive. Investigation revealed that the driver Isaiah Marquez, age 19 of Ketchikan was in possession of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia and under the legal age of 21 years old. Further investigation revealed that Marquez was violating current Conditions of Release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse for driving and not obeying State Law. The original charge stems from Assault in the 4th Degree. Marquez was arrested for two counts of VCOR and one count of MICS 6th Degree and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center.

On 04/23/2020 at about 2353 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on a green Subaru for a moving violation near the 600 Block of Stedman Street. Investigation revealed that driver Timothy Cook II, age 18 of Ketchikan was operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol. Cook was issued citations for MOCA, Minor Consuming Alcohol, and Failure to Show Proof of Insurance at the time of stop. The vehicle was released to a sober adult.

Type: Theft in the 3rd DegreeDispatch Text:
On 04/23/2020 at about 1557 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a theft at a newly developed property at mile 14 of the North Tongass Highway. It was reported that cedar firewood was stolen from the property. Investigation revealed suspect(s) parked on the property and cut up and loaded Cedar firewood into a vehicle which was reported by witnesses to be a late 1990's model white Buick sedan. The theft occurred between the hours of 1330 to 1530 hours on 04/23/2020. Anyone with information about the Theft or any criminal matter is asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 225-5118. Type: Commercial King Crab ViolationDispatch Text:
On 4/22/20, Yancey Nilsen, age 47, of Petersburg was issued a summons for retaining undersize commercial golden king crab. Nilsen, the permit holder aboard the F/V Aleutian Dream was contacted on 3-16-20 during an offload. Inspection of his catch revealed Brown King Crab that were less than 7 inches in width of carapace. Arraignment is set for May 12th in the Petersburg District Court.
