Ketchikan Police Report August 25--Sept 17th

On 08/25/19 at approximately 2129 hours, officers contacted Shane Vanorden, age 41, for
striking a parked vehicle and then leaving the scene of the accident. After failing field sobriety
tests, he was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence and Action of Operator
Immediately after Accident. He was transported to the state jail and set to be released on his
own recognizance.

On 08/26/19 at about 0112 hours, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Tongass
Avenue for a report of a domestic dispute. Officers contacted Richard Wetherill, age 37. He was
arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree – Domestic Violence. Mr. Wetherill was transported to the
state jail and held without bail.

On 08/26/19 at approximately 1801 hours, officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of
Tongass Avenue due to a report of a hit and run traffic collision. Officers contacted Katy B.
Hamilton, age 36, as the driver. She was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to
Submit to Chemical Test. Officers contacted Daniel I. Yutronich, age 29. He drove the vehicle
after the collision and was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. They both were booked at
the state jail and set to be released on their own recognizance.

On 08/27/19 at approximately 0733 hours, officers responded to the 1400 block of Jackson
Street due to a report of a domestic assault. Benjamin James Jr., age 61, was arrested for two
counts of Assault in the 4th Degree – Domestic Violence. He was transported to the state jail and
held without bail.

On 08/27/19 at approximately 0124 hours, officers contacted Kyle Wolfe, age 34, for speeding.
After failing field sobriety tests, he was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence and
for Probation Violation. He was transported to the state jail where he was held without bail.

On 08/27/2019 at approximately 2156 hours, officers responded to the 200 block of Madison
for the report of domestic violence. Officers contacted Richard Finger, age 53. After further
investigation, Mr. Finger was arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree – Domestic Violence. Mr.
Finger was transported to the state jail where he was held without bail.

On 08/30/19 at approximately 0016 hours, officers contacted Tanya Bitonti, age 41, in the
400 block of Main Street due to her having an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was
for Petition to Revoke Probation. She was arrested and transported to the state jail
where she was held on $100.00 bail.

On 8/30/19 at approximately 2036 hours, officers responded to Herring Way for a report of a
domestic assault that just occurred. Based upon the information provided, Ouida Trout-Roelfs,
age 48, was later contacted and arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree – Domestic Violence. She
was transported to the state jail and held without bail.

On 08/31/19 at approximately 0116 hours, officers contacted Gilmore White, age 33, in the 300
block of Main Street. He was served a summons ordering him to appear in court for a charge of
Theft in the 4th Degree.

On 08/31/19 at approximately 0554 hours, officers contacted Tanya Bitonti, age 41, in the 400
block of Main Street. A records check showed her to have and outstanding warrant for her
arrest. The warrant was for Petition to Revoke Probation. She was arrested and transported to
the state jail where she was held on $200.00 bail.

On 08/31/19 at approximately 1759 hours, officers contacted Crystal R. Skultka, age 30, on East
Street. She was arrested for two outstanding warrants for Failure to Appear for Status Hearing
and Violation of Conditions of Release. She was transported to the state jail and held without
bail.

On 09/03/19 at approximately 1833 hours, officers responded to the 3300 block of Tongass
Avenue. Officers contacted Dean Davis, age 52. Mr. Davis had valid conditions of release not to
consume or possess alcohol. After further investigation, Mr. Davis was arrested for Violating
Conditions of Release. He was transported to the state jail and held on $250.00 bail.

On 09/04/19 at approximately 0830 hours, an investigation began regarding a fight involving a
weapon that occurred on 09/03/19 at about 1700 hours at Dudley Field. The investigation
revealed Cristian Fernandez-Alexie, age 19, brandished a hand gun during the fight. He was
arrested for Assault in the 3rd Degree and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the 4th Degree. He
was transported to the state jail and held without bail.

On 09/04/19 at approximately 1600 hours, officers contacted Jeremy Orin, age 29, in the 300
block of Main Street where he was served a summons for Petition to Revoke Probation.

On 09/06/19 at approximately 1247 hours, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and
contacted Tanya Bitonti, age 41, as the operator. A record check showed her Alaska driver’s
license to be suspended. She was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and transported
to the state jail where she was set to be released on her own recognizance.

On 09/06/19 at approximately 1614 hours, officers contacted Nicholas Burbary, age 39, on
Denali Avenue due to a report of him smelling like alcohol, picking up a child from school and
driving away. Mr. Burbary was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Endangering
the Welfare of a Minor in the 1st Degree. He was transported to the state jail and held on
$500.00 bail.

On 09/10/19 at approximately 2139 hours, officers contacted Thea N. Curtis, age 38, in the 1400
block of Tongass Avenue. She was arrested for an outstanding warrant, Unlawful Contact in the
1st Degree and Violation of Conditions of Release. She was transported to the state jail and held
without bail.

On 09/13/19 at approximately 2300 hours, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle speeding
on Tongass Avenue. Officers contacted Donovan Weston, age 24, as the driver of the vehicle.
Mr. Weston was arrested for Driving While License Revoked. He was transported to the state jail
and set to be released on his own recognizance.

On 09/14/19 at approximately 0232 hours, officers responded to the 3200 block of Baranof
Avenue for a report of an assault. Officers contacted Nicholes Daniels, age 36, during their
investigation. Mr. Daniels was arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree – Domestic Violence. He
was transported to the state jail and held without bail.

On 09/15/19 at approximately 1419 hours, officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of
Nordstrom Drive for a report of a female destroying the residence. Officers contacted Charles
Bertoch, age 47, inside the residence with the female. Mr. Bertoch had court ordered conditions
of release not to consume or possess alcohol and to have no contact directly or indirectly with
the female. Mr. Bertoch was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release and Unlawful
Contact 1st Degree. He was transported to the state jail where he was held without bail.

On 9/15/19 at approximately 2023 hours, officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 3400
block of Denali Avenue. Officers contacted Nicholas Burbary, age 39, who was intoxicated. Mr.
Burbary had court ordered conditions not to consume or possess alcohol. He was arrested for
Violation of Conditions of Release and transported to the state jail where he was held on
$250.00 bail.

On 9/16/19 at approximately 2038 hours, officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 900
block of Nordstrom Drive. Officers contacted Stella Burr, age 47, who was arrested for Criminal
Mischief in the 4th Degree – Domestic Violence. She was transported to the state jail where she
was held without bail.

On 09/16/19 at approximately 2322 hours, officers contacted James R. Lorme, age 37, in the
2500 block of Tongass Avenue. He was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant charging him
with Petition to Revoke Probation. He was transported to the state jail and held on $500.00
bail.

On 09/17/19 at approximately 1541 hours, officers contacted Benjamin James, age 61, in the
1300 block of Fairy Chasm for an outstanding arrest warrant. Mr. James was arrested on his
warrant, charging him with Unlawful Contact in the 1st Degree and Violation of Conditions of
Release, for an incident that occurred on 09/13/19. Mr. James was transported to the state jail
where he was held without bail.
