On 12/04/18, K-9 Misty sniffed out a package that was found to be carrying narcotics. Investigation led to the arrests of Jason Simpson, 35 of Ketchikan, and Angelina McDonald, 34 of Ketchikan. Simpson was found to be in possession of approximately one gram of heroin when contacted by Troopers. An additional 175 gross grams (6.17 ounces) of suspected heroin, 121 gross grams (4.2 ounces) of suspected methamphetamine, paraphernalia commonly associated with drug sales, and a large sum of cash was seized from Simpson’s residence. Simpson and McDonald were arrested for two counts of MICS 2 and remanded at the Ketchikan Correctional Center without bail pending arraignment. Ketchikan SDEU would like to thank the Ketchikan Police Department Investigations Unit, and Troopers from Ketchikan AST and AWT Patrol for their assistance during the investigation.

On 12/14/18 at 1910 hours, Prince of Wales State Troopers located and arrested 28 year old Curtis Looper, of Klawock on an outstanding probation warrant for Felony DUI. Looper was remanded to the Craig Jail and held on $500 bail.

On 12/13/2018 at about 1555 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Angelina McDonald, age 34 of Ketchikan near a business on Don King road. McDonald had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Ketchikan Courthouse for VCOR from the original charge of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree. Further investigation revealed with the assistance of SDEU and K-9 Misty that McDonald was in possession of Heroin, non-prescribed prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia. McDonald was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $7,000.00.

On 12/14/2018 at about 1908 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Roger Suckinaw, age 35 of Ketchikan at a residence in the 700 Block of Forest Park Drive. Suckinaw had an outstanding arrest warrant from the original charges of Indecent Exposure in the 2nd Degree and Assault in the 4th Degree. Suckinaw was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $500.00.

On 12/15/2018 at about 1907 hours, the Alaska State Troopers contacted and arrested Kailee Tavares, age 19 of Ketchikan at a residence in the 2300 Block of Oyster Avenue. Tavares had an arrest warrant for PTRP reference the original charge of Assault in the 2nd Degree. Tavares was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $5,000,00.

On 12/14/2018 at about 2235 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence in the 100 Block of Forest Park Drive after AST received multiple 911 hang-ups from the residence. AST responded to the residence. Investigation revealed that Rowen Henderson, age 28 of Ketchikan assaulted a family member at the residence by physically punching the person and strangling the victim. Henderson refused to open the door to the residence and ultimately AST applied and was granted an Arrest Warrant on Henderson. On 12/15/2018 at about 0512 hours, AST contacted and arrested Henderson on his warrant issued for Assault in the 2nd Degree and Assault in the 4th Degree. Henderson was remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with No Bail.
