Klawock Man Runs Over and Kills Girlfriend

On July 3, 2018 at about 1911 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales Island responded to the area near Mile Post 75 North Boundry Road for a female who had been struck by a vehicle.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at about 1902 hours, 44 year old George Huffine of Klawock was driving his 2005 Toyota Tundra south on Boundry Road. His 26 year old girlfriend, Trinity Kriener also from Klawock was a passenger in the vehicle. The two were having an argument according to Huffine when Kriener leapt from the vehicle and was subsequently ran over by the rear tires of the truck. Kriener was pronounced dead while in route to the Klawock Clinic. Huffine was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and manslaughter.

Next of kin have been notified and the body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner.

Anyone who may have witnessed the blue 2005 Toyota Tundra driving north of Naukati on 7/3/2018, and or spoken to either occupant earlier that day near the area of Red Bay or El Capitan are encouraged to contact the Prince of Wales State Troopers at 826-2918.
