On 5/22/2018 at approximately 1015 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to S. Thorne Bay for a reported disturbance. Investigation revealed Shane Porter, 33 years old from Thorne Bay, damaged the property belonging to an ex-girlfriend. Porter was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree (Domestic Violence), and remanded to the Craig Jail pending arraignment.

On May 21, 2018, Craig Police Department received information in regards to the location of Jeremy Ellis and Nicki Casey, both of whom had active warrants for their arrests. Both were known to be hiding out on Prince of Wales island and troopers along with Craig Police Department had been making attempts to locate them. CPD, along with the assistance of AST, responded to the residence where both Ellis and Casey were arrested without incident at about 3:45PM.

On 5/19/18, Alaska Wildlife Troopers Prince of Wales Post conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. The investigation showed the driver; Thomas Ruckman (34 of Klawock) was driving with a revoked license. Further investigation led to Ruckman being arrested for Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the 3rd degree for a felon being in possession with a concealable firearm. Ruckman was remanded to the Craig Jail awaiting arraignment in the Prince of Wales District Court.

On 5/23/2018, A construction company reported a front-end loader was damaged sometime over the last 3-4 days. The vehicle sustained approximately $700 damage while parked on Dump Road in Craig. Anyone with information to this incident is encouraged to call the Alaska State Troopers at 826-2918.
