On 1/11/2018, Prince of Wales Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the Craig/Klawock Highway for a moving violation. The driver, 19 year old Taan Morrison of Hydaburg was discovered to have a concealable firearm on his person. Morrison did not disclose to AST that he was in possession of the firearm during the initial contact. It was further learned that Morrison was advised by AWT on 1/7/2018 that he must disclose the possession of the firearm during contact with law enforcement. The firearm was seized and Morrison was issued a criminal citation and released on scene.
