On November 13, 2017 at about 3:50PM, the Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a license plate violation. During the stop, troopers contacted one of the occupants, 29 year old Craig resident David Cox Jr. Cox was subsequently arrested and transported to Craig Police Department where he was remanded. Cox was charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance III, No Valid Operator's License, No Motor Vehicle Insurance, and Misuse of Plates.

On 11/16/17 at approximately 0755 hours, Alaska State Troopers on Prince of Wales received a report of a single vehicle roll over at MP 5 Craig-Klawock Hwy. Investigation revealed Marena Bennett, age 20 of Craig, lost control her pickup due to icy conditions. Bennett was reported to be wearing her seatbelt, and was transported to the Alicia Roberts Medical Clinic as a precaution. Alcohol was not a factor.
