Craig Police Report Week of February 5, 2017

During the week of February 5, 2017 to February 11, 2017

The following incidents were reported to and/or investigated by the
Craig Police Department:

2/5/17
1:05 p.m. A 51 yr old female was arrested on charges of DUI.
3:08 p.m. EMS responded to a call on 2nd street.
4:23 p.m. Received a report of 2 intoxicated people in the road on PSN, an officer responded and transported the 2 individuals Shaan Seet.
6:00 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop on Water street by the Harbor, a verbal warning was given for driving the wrong way through a one way entrance.
7:08 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at E. Hamilton and Sunnahae, a verbal warning was given for a headlight out.

2/6/17
8:24 a.m. Received a report of a loose dog by city gym,officer responded, located dog and returned it to it’s owner.
11:30 a.m. EMS responded to a call at 700 block of Main street.
12:36 p.m. Received a report of a female sitting on the bike path, possibly needing help. Officer responded, students at location for class project, Crab Creek. 2 students warned for damaging property that wasn’t theirs.
3:20 p.m. Police Chief reported an injured bald eagle in the road by AP&T, forest service was notified and bird was captured and will be sent to Sitka.

2/7/17
8:11 a.m. Received a report of a white truck that has been missing, it was found on PSN near 500 block of Shaan Seet TC.
6:16 p.m. Received a report of a lost black wallet possibly left at SEARCH, advised no wallet matching the description was brought into CPD.
8:01 p.m. An officer provided transport to an individual from W. Hamilton to Spruce street.

2/8/17
12:13 p.m. Received a report of the grass by the burn pit being on fire, an officer responded and stated it was small and would keep an eye on it.
1:18 p.m. A key was found near Ralph James Park.
2:46 p.m. Received a report of possible drug sales, officers investigating.
7:09 p.m. Received a report of a big black pitbull with a white chest chasing people at 400 block of Shaan Seet TC, an officer contacted the owner and they came and got the dog.

2/9/17
8:01 a.m. Received a report of a black pick up driving reckless at the High School, officers notified, investigation started.
11:40 a.m. Received a report of a Domestic Disturbance on 600 block of Hamilton, an officer responded and the subject was arrested.
12:31 p.m. A 38 yr old male was arrested on charges of Assault in the fourth degree DV.
2:12 p.m. Received a report from a parent at 500 block Shaan Seet TC that an adult male had been buying cigarettes for a minor, investigation started.
3:55 p.m. Received a report from a male at North Cove that he had been verbally assaulted by a female after he had said some things on facebook about her daughter.
5:42 p.m. A 65 yr old male was arrested on charges of DUI.
5:47 p.m. Received a report of a black car speeding and driving over yellow line at 4 mile C/K Hwy heading into Craig, officers were advised.
6:05 p.m. Received a report of a debit card found by the Mormon Church, it was brought to the Police Department, owner was contacted and a voice mail left.
7:15 p.m. Received a report of a Domestic Disturbance at a Crab Bay float house, a female stated a male had beat her up and tried to choke her, officers responded and an investigation was started.
7:20 p.m. EMS responded to a call at a Crab Bay float house.
7:23 p.m. Received a report of a female that had stabbed in the lower thigh by another female at 400 block of Shaan Seet TC, officers responded and took the suspect into custody.
7:33 p.m. EMS responded to a call at 400 block of Shaan Seet TC.
7:49 p.m. A 23 yr old female was arrested on charges of Assault in the second degree.
8:35 p.m. A 51 yr old male was arrested on charges of Assault in the second degree.
9:45 p.m. EMS responded to a call on 2nd street.

2/10/17
7:56 a.m. Received a report that a jeep was driving too fast and spinning their tires between the parking lots of Thompson House and West Wind Plaza, police chief caught up with the individual at the high school. Investigation started.
9:04 a.m. Received a report of a Domestic Disturbance at 100 block of Shaan Seet TC of a male and female yelling at each other, police chief responded and an investigation was started.
11:32 a.m. Key found on 2-9-17 returned to owner.
1:16 p.m. A Domestic Violence Protective Order was served at 400 block of Shaan Seet TC.
3:46 p.m. Received a report from a male on 2nd street that someone is using his debit card, there were 5 transactions from yesterday, an officer responded and is following up AC store.
6:06 p.m. Received a report of a domestic disturbance on 9th and Water, an officer respond and the issue was resolved.
6:41 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at Craig Middle School parking lot, a verbal warning was given.
7:00 p.m. An 18 yr old male was arrested on charges of Theft in the fourth degree.
8:25 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at Craig Middle School parking lot, a verbal warning was given for improper start from stop.
9:12 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at 2 mile C/KHwy, a verbal warning was given for a tail light out.
10:06 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at C/K Hwy and High School, a verbal warning was given for a head light out and failure to register vehicle in Alaska.
11:08 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop on W. Hamilton by Lodge, a verbal warning was given for a break light out.

2/11/17
3:09 a.m. Conducted a traffic stop at PSN Burn Pit, a verbal warning was given for speed.
12:52 p.m. Received a request for a welfare check of an individual, individual fine.
5:22 p.m. Received a report of a brown lab following a woman down Sunnyside Dr, an officer responded and an attempt was made to contact owner, dog was left with owner’s parents on Kelsey Court.
8:02 p.m. Conducted a traffic stop at AC parking lot, a verbal warning was given for a headlight out.
9:26 p.m. Received a report of harassment via cell phone between two females at Shaan Seet TC, an officer responded and the issue was resolved by contact. The officer explained to the reporting party how and where to get a protective order.
10:03 p.m. An officer found a bumper in the road way at 300 block of Shaan Seet TC, the owner was contacted and bumper returned.

During the week of February 5, 2017 to February 11, 2017 the following complaints were reported and investigated by the Craig Police Department:

0 abandoned vehicles; 6 adult arrest;5 agency assists; 3 animal reports; 0 assault; 0 bear complaints; 0 burglaries, 2 business assists; 10 citizen assists, 0 citations were issued; 4 criminal mischief;0 criminal trespass, 0 disorderly conduct; 3 disturbances; 5 domestic dispute; 1 Domestic Violence Orders Served, 0 fire call, 4 found property, 0 harassments, 0 juvenile arrest 0 juvenile complaints; 3 lost property; 5 medical call; 0 motor vehicle accidents; 0 noise complaints; 0 protective custodies; 0 subpoena served, 0 summons served; 1 suspicious circumstances; 0 theft; 3 traffic complaints; 0 unsecured premise, 7 verbal warnings and 2 welfare checks were given
